Our Fabrics

HINDRAPE® BVI (Barrier for Inhalable Viruses) is a unique fabric. It is tough, soft, highly breathable and offers excellent properties to block viruses that cause infectious diseases such as HIV/AIDS (Human Immunodeficiency Virus), H1N1 and avian influenza.

The outer layer has water resistance and repellency; The inner layer is soft and comfortable when worn in long surgical procedures; The blocking layer is a membrane that has a monolithic, non-porous structure that offers an impermeable barrier, preventing the entry of viruses and bacteria; The structure of the film allows wet vapor to pass through and allows the wearer to feel comfortable with the highest level of protection.

HINDRAPE® is designed to pass and exceed AAMI PB 70 (Liquid barrier performance and classification of protective apparel and drapes intended for use in health care facilities) level 4 performance criteria, in accordance with the regulations for clean air surgical gowns, sheets and drapes.

Sterilization

We only sterilize with the most reliable and effective method - gamma radiation, which unlike ethylene oxide gas sterilization, this method is energy-based, not matter-based, so there is no way to leave residues.

It does not require delicate and porous packaging, since this energy produced by cobalt-60 passes through everything exposed to it with particular certainty, breaking the reproduction chains of any microorganism.

Our designs are anatomical and avant-garde with finishes that not only meet the specific manufacturing guidelines for PROTECTIVE clothing, but also provide an excellent image and comfort to users.

Hindernis maximum protection without sweat

Through innovative materials that provide the highest barrier in our garments that totally prevent the passage of liquids and microorganisms while allowing the passage of air, keeping users totally comfortable and cool.

Surgical Clothing

The purpose of surgical clothing is to provide an effective barrier of PROTECTION against microorganisms. Any garment that does NOT provide this function is considered inappropriate and risky. WHO 1985.

The lack of appropriate and specific materials for surgical use forced hospitals and health institutions to resort to the use of reusable clothing, intended to form a "barrier" against microorganisms through several layers of absorbent material such as cotton.

This practice has been declared obsolete due to its high risk and cost. Subsequently, "disposable" clothes emerged, their only advantage is that they are used only once, but they do not provide an effective barrier against microorganisms or control of liquids, therefore, this practice is considered as an unnecessary and risky luxury.

Today we have 100% reliable BARRIER materials never seen before, which, in perfect combination with extraordinary designs, guarantee a barrier of MAXIMUM PROTECTION through perfect control of liquids and microorganisms

AAMI Protection

Our new complete line of isolation based on AAMI standards provides an unparalleled combination of protection against microorganisms and liquid control, and therefore, the penetration of bacteria, spores and pathogens as aggressive as Staphylococcus aureus, hepatitis type C, HIV among others.

To comply with AAMI guidelines, our protective clothing must meet minimum standards for tensile, tear, barrier, and fluid resistance performance. Tested under controlled conditions with AAMI rating, they show an AQL level (acceptable quality level) of 4%, which provides high levels of user security.

Each garment must be fully protective on the front, back and along the sleeves including the seams and be clearly labeled to indicate the level of protection it offers, according to AAMI.

Our garments are perfectly resistant to the penetration of living organisms such as MRSA or bacterial spores. They have been independently tested to measure their bacterial filtration and BFE (Bacterial Filtration Efficiency) efficiency, obtaining an unsurpassed result.

Acquired infections

According to statistics from the World Health Organization, one in ten people suffers from OR-acquired infections and with the proliferation of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and multiple other drug-resistant organisms (MDROs), that number is rapidly increasing.

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) reports that patients diagnosed with MRSA infections increased from 38,100 in 1995 to 368,800. Organisms like MRSA can now survive for several months on virtually any surface or on the patient.

  • $6,700,000,000 USD annual impact on postoperative care worldwide.
  • The WHO revealed that the United States spends $900 million to care for patients who need to stay in the hospital to treat infections acquired in the operating room.
  • Mexico could spend as much as US$300 million to treat infections acquired in the operating room.
  • MRSA infection growth of 97% per year.
  • The additional cost for treatment of a single MRSA infection can be as high as $35,000 USD.
